What is Cafe Alamid?

Little is known about one of the most expensive yet more popular coffee known to man. It is available only in most countries of South East Asia. It has an exquisite flavor and aroma making it matchless with other coffees. The bean normally known as “Cafe Alamid” is manufactured in East Timor, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines but is well known and distributed in all parts of the world.

What’s even more surprising is it’s location of creation. Unlike many coffee that come from plants that grow in the ground. This coffee takes it’s name from a little animal called Alamid in the Philippines’ also known as the Asian Palm Civet or the Philippine Civet Cat (although it isn’t a part of the feline family).

History says everything initiated when several coffee farmers analyzed the droppings of these small animals after a night long feast of coffee cherries. Unmindful of any probable medical concerns, these indigenous farmers began washing, roasting and brewing these droppings which eventually became well-known and turned into a totally fresh and unorthodox coffee preparing. Research was performed and experts invented a regular technique in cleaning and roasting these exotic coffee beans to remove any damaging germs while maintaining it’s distinctive taste and aroma. There are also studies that answered exactly why these droppings generate an excellent tasting coffee. As the coffee beans move by natural means of digestion inside the Alamid (where it actually retains it’s organic form and texture) – their digestive nutrients are infused to the beans. What makes it much better is the reason that they will only eat the best and ripest coffee cherries.

Today, Cafe Alamid is starting to essentially create a reputation for itself being a top-grade coffee that offers up to as much as 1000 dollars per pound. A few coffee shops serve them at $33 per cup. The market industry has various kinds of coffee but Cafe Alamid is without a doubt becoming more and more well-known and definitely, the billions of coffee lovers around the world would’ve a real experience with a cup of this world class coffee.
