Mortgage Complaints

On the 14th of September 2010 the Financial Ombudsman Services released its complaints data for the previous 6 months for all types of financial services businesses in the UK.

We will concentrate on the worst wrongdoers in the residential mortgage market so you can be made aware of the companies that have performed badly so you can either remortgage with another supplier of avoid them if you are a first time buyer looking for a mortgage.

As you will be aware being mis sold mortgages in the UK is increasing and charges are rising and being upheld on a regular foothold so if you are looking for best advice then avoid these companies until they amend their system of rules .

Bank Of Scotland were the worst offenders for charges for the past 6 months with 500 mortgage complaints which is totally unacceptable in today’s market when the FSA have already launched a treating customers fairly programme. With this level of complaints for being missold mortgages do you feel self assured that they are truly treating their customers fairly?

It may come as a surprise to find out that Barclays Bank PLC came a close second to the Bank of Scotland with 473 charges in the previous six months which again is not an acceptable dissemble of charges to the Ombudsman in the six month period so we would ask you to consider have you been missold mortgages from these lenders in the previous 6 mature or from Santander UK Plc who finished up the 3rd worst offender for mortgages in the UK for the last 6 months with 434 complaints against them in the last 6 months.

With the mortgage market in the UK at an all time low these 3 providers have still administere around 1400 complaints between them which is on average 14 complaints every day landing place at the Ombudsman which does not include satisfied charges or people who have not perused their mortgage complaint as far as the Ombudsman.

We are uncertain as to how many of these complaints concernto pension mortgages as the data does not reveal this but we think some will relate to this type of mortgage and will grow in the future .

Being mis sold mortgage is on the increase for both residential mortgages and other types of mortgages such as self cert mortgages and we look this to intensify in the not too distant future. So if you look that something is not good order with your mortgage don’t delay deal with it today.
