Organizing Shoe Storage Ideas for Your Teens

Does your high school kid drive you crazy with shoes strewn all over the room?

As teen-aged children, it’s all too normal for them to tag several pairs of shoes as their favorites. They use these pairs so much that they hardly take it off. But when they do take the shoes off, you’re most likely to find them under the chairs, under their beds, or in the middle of the bedroom. Multiply this by five if you have a teenaged daughter! There are sneakers, sandals, pumps, stilettos and mary jane’s of different colors and shapes.

Since they’re already old enough to pick up after themselves, a shoe storage ideas project is the easy solution to this issue. You easily find and purchase stackable plastic containers in any supplies store or department store. The transparent ones would be more ideal, but if you cannot find them, just make sure that you choose durable containers made of good quality plastic.

Start the shoe rack furniture project by asking your son or daughter to take photos of each pair of shoes that he or she has. You don’t need fancy camera for this, an ordinary digital camera or mobile phone camera ought to do it. Afterwards, print out the pictures, about 3x 5 inches should be just about right.

After placing one pair in each plastic container, ask your son or daughter to tape thecorresponding picture. In this manner, even if the plastic containers are put one atop another, he or she can easily find the particular pair that they would want to wear. No more rummaging through closets or going through boxes upon boxes of shoes just to find that specific pair.

Stackable plastic containers are not only good for organizing many pairs of shoes, and in addition also great as a space saving idea. You can stack them as high as you want, or as high as your closet space would allow. And finally, since these plastic containers closed tightly, they also prevent dust and insects from damaging your valuable collection of footwear.
