Five Giveaway Points Of A Fantastic Hotel

It can be hard to find a Kings Cross hotel that ticks all the boxes. A hotel St Pancras can look absolutely lovely from the outside, but might not be so pretty on the inside. As well as that, there are hotels that don’t look great from the outside, but are magnificent inside. As they say, never judge a book by its cover. With the recent economic downturn, less and less people now travel for fun. Even business travel has had cuts. It is no wonder hotels are constantly competing with the larger hotel groups for filling bed space. So with all the choice, how do you pick the best hotels Kings Cross? It’s not always about cost. Location has a lot to say about hotel pricing. In London for example, how do you decide which of those many, many 50 a night hotels to stay in?

The first thing to do is check out the facilities. Most hotels will have a website detailing their facilities. At the very least, you want tea and coffee making facilities and an en-suite bathroom or shower room. Once upon a time hotels would have shared bathrooms. These days we have a little more choice, and it definitely best to find a hotel that at least gives you the privacy of your own shower! I have never stayed in a hotel that doesn’t offer complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. If the hotel doesn’t have the more minor amenities such as a trouser press, try not to worry too much. Is a trouser press and mini bar really a necessity? Don’t forget as well, you can normally expect to pay an arm and a leg for a chocolate bar! The bottled water is very often more than the average priced bottle of wine!

Study with much more detail the more important facilities you’d expect to have access to for an extended stay. If you are just stopping over night, there is nothing to stop you sampling the cuisine at a local restaurant. However, with cost and convenience in mind, you may wish to find a hotel with its own hotel if you are staying a while. The need for a bar generally comes down to the individual! For work travel, you are probably going to be that tired after a hard day, that you’ll probably just want to go to sleep. However, should the purpose of your travel be for pleasure, you really need to unwind at the bar!

Always make sure you do your research on the hotel. The local tourist board should be able to offer independent advice. It is much quicker though, to jump onto Google and type the hotel name in! The hotel should be listed on lots of different review websites. Remember though- take the reviews with a pinch of salt. Some people are very difficult to please and the review can reflect accordingly. For 50 pounds they are probably expecting a 500 pound service. On the flip side, some people are far too easily pleased. I have always found the best reviews are the long detailed ones that review every aspect of the visit from start to finish. A longer review is easier to work out how fair it is.

You can always ring the hotel reception before booking. If the staff are friendly and courteous, that hotel is worth booking! However, should the staff be frankly useless, that hotel should be given a wide birth. Remember to confirm the details of the amenities offered at the hotel.

All in all, after some research you should be able to pick out the best hotel. Always bear in mind locations such as London can be very busy. To avoid disappointment, book in advance. Whatever hotel you choose, do enjoy your stay and make sure to leave a fair review on one of the many review websites to help others who will be in the same situation as you are now.
