Man has long been dependent on cows for their source of milk. Cows are raised and milked in farms and is supplied to the population.  As a result of development in the world’s population, farmers have to think of ways in order to hasten and increase the production of dairy milk as well as other dairy products.

Could you think that the cows are now being fed with growth hormones and high protein soy based diets to improve up their growth?  However this method of sudden abnormal growth has caused an unwanted effect such as malfunctions with the cow’s pituitary gland, and liver.  Consider the continuous effect it could possibly have on humans.

Because the undesirable effects, some farmers have turned into organic farming to provide organic milk.

How’s milk actually processed?

Have you considered how milk is processed before it can be safely consumed?

Dairy milk is first pasteurized that is a process where milk is heat treated to high temperatures.

Why’s milk pasteurized?

Heating milk removes the harmful substances and bacteria.  However, this method also destroys milk proteins and enzymesthat basically help your entire body to soak up the calcium that is present in milk.  Certain health supplements like B6, B12, and C are killed as well.

Apart from pasteurization, some forms of dairy milk undergo a homogenization process.  It’s actually a process wherein milk fat is filtered out so the result would have been a much smoother liquid with no traces of fat that usually floats on the outside.

Of course this method improves the overall texture of dairy milk, a problem with this method is the fact that it also changes the structure of healthy varieties of fat that may convert it into free radicals.

Why is dairy milk really healthy?

It starts with the cows.  Cows that aren’t injected with all kinds of different growth hormones are often significantly better.
