Sustainable purpose

We set up our business to primarily fill the gaps in native plants not available from larger nurseries.

A lot of plants we grow are from what we believe to be important to our environment, not preordered; so it is our passion for maintaining the bushland in and around Sydney, on Hawksbury Sandstone that is a key driver.

We are currently open for landscapers and trade enquiries.

We specialise in Australian plants to use in Japanese style gardens; AusZen.

We offer discounts to members of the Australian Plants Society.

Australian Plants attracts birds, and other native fauna to the property. After fires, providing native habitat can be critical, so your place can become a refuge.

The plants help in reducing strong light to your house, can provide shade and a nice micro climate both in summer and winter, and can smell beautiful – especially fragrant is the Boronia serrulata or Sydney Rock Rose – a real rare beauty and one of the best smelling plants I know of.

There are a lot of endangered plants around Sydney which most people are not aware of, and these include the Sydney Bluegum believe it or not, mainly because the natural environment is being reduced, and underscrubbing causes lots of problems to eucalypts.

If you are interested in starting up a native Australian Garden, and would like a landscape plan – give me a call.

Plants are not considered native to a region within decades or even centuries after introduction. To be native, they must originate in the region and co-evolve with other species over thousands of years. As these species evolve together, they adapt to the physical environment formed by local climate and weather conditions, soil types, topography, and hydrology. Native plants form interdependent, highly specialized relationships with other organisms that are necessary for each other’s survival. Replacing natives with plants from other regions cannot replicate the complex interactions that naturally occur.‘ Glen, C.D Native Plants Chapter 12.
